Manzanita is a small, friendly village 23 miles south of Seaside and 25 miles north of Tillamook. The town is known for its beautiful seven-mile stretch of beach with views of Neahkahnie Mountain, wonderful shops, and friendly people.

Guests have access to the whole property.
Space
Waves on a Whim is a luxurious custom-built home one short block from the beach and even closer to the quaint main street of Laneda Avenue. Recently built in 2021, for family beach vacations and enjoying all that Manzanita has to offer. It is the perfect place for groups of up to 10 (max 8 adults) looking to spend time together on the beautiful Oregon Coast, no matter the weather.
The welcoming foyer is spacious enough for the whole family to escape the rain on wet days. Kick off your shoes, turn on the fireplace with the flip of a switch, and get cozy on the plush L-shaped leather sofa in the roomy living room. Offering elegant finishes and new KitchenAid stainless steel appliances, any chef will appreciate the fully stocked kitchen with plenty of natural light. Quartz countertops, sleek white cabinetry, and living plants lovingly cared for by the homeowner add to the appeal of this inviting space. The uncluttered dining area seats six at the table and four more at the island, with bar stools providing ample seating for guests.
The first-floor room with a queen-sized Murphy bed (made up on request) offers a quiet place for relaxing away from the other bedrooms and features a workspace where you can hook up your laptop or tablet to get some work done. Those with small children in tow will be grateful for the affixed safety gate at the bottom of the staircase.
The second-floor bunk room sleeps up to 5 people. Kids of all ages will delight in fun touches like the LED rope lights wound around the bunk stair railing. Littles can play “vacation rental office” at the sweet miniature desk built into the foot of the bed. Down the hallway is the primary bedroom with a giant king bed, wall-mounted flat-screen TV, and ensuite bathroom with a remote-controlled bidet. The buttery soft leather armchair and ottoman invite you to curl up with a good book and ignore the world for a while…
Upstairs, you’ll also find a full guest bathroom with a tub/shower combo and a laundry room boasting a state-of-the-art GE front-loading washer and dryer set. At the end of the hall, there’s a third bedroom with a comfortable queen bed and a flat-screen TV. Catch breathtaking views of Neahkahnie Mountain from the north-facing window and watch the sun go down over the Pacific on clear evenings.
Ride one of the available bikes to town for a strong cup of coffee each morning before taking a long stroll on Manzanita’s captivating 7-mile beach. Pick up some fresh local seafood to grill up on the gas BBQ in the backyard while your guests lounge and relish in one another’s company on the comfy outdoor furniture. Sorry, but no pets are allowed at Waves on a whim.
Walkable to all the delicious dining options and fun shops in town, Waves on a Whim will become a family favorite here in Manzanita!
Close proximity to Waves on a Whim is Carmel Cottage and Captains Hideaway. All on the same street.

No need for a vehicle while in Manzanita unless you would like to travel to adjacent towns. Everything is walkable.

Please read the following policies and procedures carefully. You agree to the following terms upon booking, which confirms that you have read the house rules, accept responsibility and conditions, and fully understand its content. If you have any questions, please call our office or message us on the platform you booked on. Thank you!
- Changing reservation dates is only permitted up to 45 days before arrival. All date changes are subject to a $125 fee.
- If you are within 45 days of arrival, dates cannot be moved.
- No refunds for a shortened stay.
- If there is a complaint from your party, notice must be given within 24 hours of check-in.
Good Person Policy: We kindly ask that you treat this home respectfully. Please be a good neighbor, as you are staying in a town full of long-term residents. Park on our property only unless we instruct you otherwise. Please stay within the car, and the people limit we set in our prior correspondence with you.
Arrival and Departure Day: Please follow the check-in and check-out instructions on your pre-arrival that are sent via email 3 days before your stay.
Furnishings: Our homes are fully furnished and include all linens, including beach towels, toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, laundry soap, shampoo, bar soap, kleenex, foil, saran wrap, salt, and pepper. Also included are essential cookware, utensils, a 12-cup coffee maker, coffee grinder, toaster, propane for BBQ and firepits, etc. You must provide toiletries, napkins, and paper/picnic goods. (Please do not take bath linens down to the beach.)
Check-In/Check-out:
Check-in time is 4:00pm.
Check-out time is 10:00am.
If you would like an early check-in or late check-out, we can only grant this on the day of arrival or departure based on the schedule for the house. This will only be available October-May and is subject to availability. Additional fees may apply. Please speak with your reservation specialist for details. Please check out promptly, as we must prepare the house for the next guests. Unless approved beforehand, late check-outs will be subject to a fee of $50 for every 15 minutes past check-out time.
Quiet Hours: Manzanita City Ordinance states the quiet times are from 10pm to 7am. If a call is made to MBG for a noise complaint by a neighbor, you may be subject to eviction without a refund if guests do not remedy this asap. Please be courteous to your neighbors that live in the area full-time. Please be mindful of noise outside and around hot tubs, etc. You are vacationing in a residential area, please be mindful. Thank you.
Occupant and Car Parking Limits: The city ordinances dictate the occupancy and parking policies to control noise and congestion in our neighborhoods and maintain the livability of our neighborhoods. According to our city/county permits, tents are not allowed, and any trailers, RVs, or campers must not be occupied or used while parked at the homes. The occupancy limit of each home may not be exceeded at any time. This means total occupancy includes non-occupant visitors. If you anticipate visitors dropping by, we ask you to rent a larger home. Violating this rule is grounds for immediate eviction and forfeit of all rental fees. This home has a 3 car limit and a 10 person occupancy limit (max of 8 adults).
Pet Policies: This home does not allow pets. If evidence of pets is found in the house, you will be charged a fee to be determined by MBG based on damages or extra cleaning.
Departure Instructions: We ask that you put all dirty laundry in a pile by the washer and start at least one load before departure. (Please start with the towels). Please start the dishwasher before departing. Remove all garbage to the outside cans provided. Please follow any other departure instructions specific to the home you rented. You will find these on the picture frame located in the house.
Smoking: No homes allow smoking, including vaping or marijuana. Smoking is not allowed in or on the property at any time. If any smoking has happened on the property, a claim will be filed, and MBG will determine the cost based on cleaning charges.
Minimum Stay: All homes have a two-night minimum with a few exceptions. A six-night minimum on reservations during July and August. Four-night minimum during the last two weeks of June. There is a three-night reservation minimum for Memorial weekend, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year. Gaps in between stays can be reserved with approval by MBG staff. Date availability can change at any time.
Refunds, Rules, and Disclaimers: No refunds will be issued due to weather, off-premise noise caused by construction near the home, or mechanical failure. We rent our vacation homes to adults only over the age of 23. No parties are allowed. Violators will be asked to leave immediately without a refund. All prices on unconfirmed reservations are subject to change without notice. Our homes are individually owned, and amenities are subject to change at any time—no refunds or discounts for appliance malfunction or amenity changes.
Liability: This agreement dictates that guests or visitors of guests will not hold Manzanita Beach Getaway or any of the homeowners responsible for things such as Personal injury, death, or loss of property.
Transfer: Rental reservations are non-transferable to another party.
